Robert Ivy is the Executive Vice President and the Chief Executive Officer of America Institute of Architects. Because of his innovativeness and excellence in his job he was appointed the CEO of America Institute of Architects (AIA) in 2011.
He acquired his Bachelors of Arts IN English from the University of the South and His Masters of Architecture from Tulane University. The AIA Association has more than 250 chapters of dynamic networks and also more than 90,000 architectural and design professional membership that is committed to improving the environment that is already built. As a strategic and innovative architect, Robert Ivy is reinforcing the Association through public health outreach, advocacy and also education initiative that puts members in the best position to serve the community and their clients too in an international era of change and challenge.
America Institute of Architects has transformed greatly since 2011, under the leadership of Robert Ivy with the intentions of serving the architectural profession in this 21st century. He is placing AIA in a strategic position from its rich bequest into influential, proactive and responsive organization. He shares a number of common goals with the organization in which creating awareness to the public on the relevance and value of all the architects is one among the chief goals. In his innovative mind he finds it wise for architects to inter-twin their ideas with software programmers. He encourages the architects to try as much as they can to think beyond design, construction and building industry which is obviously what their field deals with. Under his leadership some of the initial achievements includes; launching of public awareness campaign on Award-winning, building a new infrastructure that is digital-first technology and also improving decision-making through restructuring AIA leadership and governance.
Before joining AIA, Robert Ivy was working with the McGraw-Hill Construction as the Vice President and Editorial Director and also as the Editor-in-chief of the Architectural Record Magazine. Under his leadership in editorial, Architect Record received a number of publishing industry honors such as; The America Society of Magazine Editors National Magazine Award for general excellence, premier Magazine Journalism Award and the 2008 MPA Digital Award for website of the year. In 2010, Alpha Rho Chi honored him as a Master Architect.
