Mikhail Blagosklonny’s Research on Aging and Cancer Treatment

Mikhail  is a philanthropist and an Oncology professor at Rosewell Park Cancer in Buffalo, New York. He has conducted a lot of research on cancer and its remedies. He is also Editor-in-Chief of Oncotarget where he has conducted research and published many articles on the subject of aging. Mikhail Blagosklonny has recommended the use of the cancer drug Rapamycin for the intention of increasing human’s lifespan. Rapamycin is also known as Sirolimus. This is a drug used to prevent the body from rejecting an organ transplant. It is also a cancer drug and has been used as a coronary stent coating and treating rare lung diseases. In the pharmacy market, its trade name is Rapamune. The drug was first used as an antifungal agent, and later it was discovered to have antiproliferative and immunosuppressive characteristics.

Rapamycin has less toxic effects on kidneys compared to other immunosuppressive drugs or calcineurin inhibitors which have an adverse impact on the kidney over an extended period of time. Rapamycin is, therefore, the best option as an anti-rejection drug. The use of this drug also protects a newly transplanted liver from contacting hemolytic-uremic syndrome, an unusual disease caused by the failure of kidney, anemia and low platelet count leading to renal failure. This drug has also been found to cure Lymphangioleiomyomatosis (LAM) a rare lung disease usually affecting women of childbearing age. Research has shown that when Rapamycin is used in a coronary stent coating, there are lower rates of reoccurrence of re-stenosis thus one does not repeat the procedure often. This drug is known to suppress tumors, and when taken in the right dosage it can enhance immunity system towards the tumor growth in cancer patients.

Dr. Mikhail Blagosklonny has conducted research on the ability of this drug to rejuvenate the immunity system, especially in aging patients. He has played a major role in pioneering the use of this drug in treatment and prevention of many diseases as well as increasing the human lifespan through stopping the genes responsible for the aging process. By delaying the aging process, it also delays the onset of age-related diseases. More research about the drug is still going on.

As a philanthropist, Dr. Mikhail is working towards making sure that people have the best treatment possible all around the world. His research is mostly focused on the study of aging as well as cancer and the relationship between the two. He is in particular engrossed in why cancer is most common amongst people above a certain age. His research focuses on treating cancer efficiently and less expensively compared to today’s cancer treatments. He wants to find a way to get rid of cancer cells without affecting the cells responsible for the recovering of mind and body tissues and memory. He believes that in future cancer treatment will be readily available to everyone and hopes that other doctors will be inspired by his work and continue his research after him. He also optimistic that the research he is conducting will continue to be useful in the oncology field

Neurocore: Promoting a Stronger Memory and Mind

With the logo “A Stronger Brain Makes Anything Possible,” Neurocore is one of most prominent brain scanning companies in the areas of West Michigan and Southeast Florida.

Why? They are performing free trials to adults around these regions to see if they have memory-related issues. This procedure is called “Memory Clinical Trial,” where patients will undergo what is called by the professionals “neurofeedback:” It is the collection of data by analyzing the brain of the participants.

If you are an adult between the ages of 55 and 85, you might want to think about participating in the trial of the Neurocore brain performance centers group. Many adults in the United States end up developing memory problems and diseases that could’ve been seen with a scanning mechanism like the one the Neurocore brain performance centers use. In West Michigan, there were many interviewed citizens, and in southeast Florida as well, where people were found to have a tendency to develop memory problems.

The best of this procedure is that this event has no additional cost to those who decide to participate on the scanning. Not only is it free, but adults who attend will gain $200 for each milestone completed. There are many milestones that were created to incentivize citizens to keep progressing with the procedure and keep earning additional incentives as they go on.

Anyone in the two areas can participate, and that includes the regions of Including the areas of Grand Rapids, Grandville, Holland and Boca Raton, Palm Beach Gardens, as well as others. There are, however, a few exceptions to the rule: Adults that have developed dementia or severe depression should not undergo the neurofeedback, as well as other conditions like diabetes, blindness or deafness. The full list can be found on Neurocore’s official website.

Apart from the free trial they provide, the Neurocore staff is constantly promoting free events like “Lunch & Learn” sessions across cities, welcoming students and enthusiasts to learn more about their work and about the functions of a brain, and how many things that we perceive as correct are actually not.

In fact, Neurocore emphasizes that the brain is not hardwired, and they have sessions that train adults on how to develop their minds to reach higher grounds and achievements.

Let Your Voice Be Heard For Human Right

In this age of technology, we are more aware of the problems going on around the world than ever before. We barely go an hour without seeing some sort of negative news, whether it be on television, on your Twitter feed, and yes, some people still read newspapers. However, most of the world doesn’t really know what they can do to help. This is where Avaaz comes in.

Avaaz is a U.S based civic organization that was cofounded in 2007 by three groups. Res Publica, one of Avaaz’s cofounders, is a group of individuals composed of public sector professionals dedicated to keeping tabs on the governing system and keeping America grounded in democracy. MoveOn.org, a progressive public policy advocacy group, was also a cofounder of Avaaz. Service Employees International Union also supported Avaaz at its commencement.

The main goal of Avaaz is to promote practical idealism without pushing any sort of agenda. They are funded by their members completely, preventing any bias that comes with being funded by governments or corporations. Their ideology, practical idealism, is not based on any rules or labels. Their goal is to unite people from all around the world, to help create a world that everyone loves.

Many news and activism organizations have bosses that tell them what to write or what movements to support. Avaaz is different, because instead of deciding these things themselves they give that power to the people. Campaign ideas are submitted by members and then randomly given to ten thousand members to vote on. If the consensus says that the cause is worthy, Avaaz starts the campaign, and the campaign is usually supported by thousands of members within days. “Avaaz” is a word used Middle Eastern and Asian countries that translates to “Voice” in English, which makes sense because Avaaz’s main goal is to let peoples’ voices be heard.

Eric Lefkofsky and the Important work of Tempus

Eric Lefkofsky may not be a household name for the majority of America but he is certainly someone that tech minded entrepreneurs have been paying attention to. Eric Lefkofsky is a billionaire tech guru out of Chicago, IL who has been working in the data mining and aggregate world for a long time. As an entrepreneur he has pioneered some incredibly profitable and innovative companies. Now, Lefkofsky is setting his sights on working within the medical industry as he seeks to change the very way we approach cancer care and patient research.

Eric Lefkofsky has been focused on his work with start up company Tempus for the better part of the past two years. The company recently raised an additional $70 million in series C Funding and is now labeled at a $700 million valuation. All of the money in the world doesn’t compare to what Tempus is actually doing, however, and that is something that we will tackle with more specificity.

Tempus is using a special kind of technology in order to pull in clinical data and genomic data from patients around the country into a central aggregate. Tempus operates something like a digital blanket which is then summarily laid over the Electronic Health Records that hospitals have been familiarizing themselves with over the past several years. Lefkofsky and the team at Tempus understand just how haphazard data collection has been for cancer care patients and they know that proper data collecting can be the difference between life and death. After all, being able to find out why a certain medication works on one patient while not working on the other is well worth the knowledge!

Tempus is working hand in hand with a variety of different facilities as they seek to bully their way into the healthcare industry. Tempus has partnered up with the famous May Clinic as well as the Duke University School of Medicine and the Cleveland Clinic, as well. With progress Tempus will become a leading source of data on patient care and molecular information for patients around the country and eventually the world.
